The Role
An opportunity has arisen from both business growth and employee progression in the Chelmsford plant for an experienced Die Cutter/Gluer Operator on double days shift. To be successful in joining the Production Team, you will need to be highly motivated, focused, and driven. Demonstrating a positive can-do and safe attitude, together with excellent self-organisation and teamwork skills is essential. We are looking for applicants who are great communicators and able to work as part of a team to meet production targets in line with the site's Health & Safety culture.
Previous experience within the corrugated sector is preferred.
Key responsibilities include:
* Understand and work to high Health & Safety standards, including reporting any H&S issues.
* Comply with Quality and Hygiene specifications and requirements.
* Take dimensional and visual measurements and associate these with product specifications, ensuring products are within tolerance of customer expectations.
* Set machinery via a computer and manually.
* Demonstrate flexibility in operating a variety of machinery proficiently.
* Clean and maintain machinery.
* Work with your Team Leader on process/continuous improvement projects.
* Ensure accurate records are maintained throughout the production process.
* Assist your Team Leader in improving all KPIs with effective utilization of labor and resources.
* Minimize downtime by forward planning to ensure all materials are available well in advance.
* Utilize allocated labor to the best effect in order to achieve identified priorities.
The ideal candidate will have:
* The ability to demonstrate a positive safety culture.
* Good attendance records and an excellent work ethic.
* Understanding of basic numerical data required to operate to production standards.
* Good team player ethos - able to work as part of a crew and independently.
* Self-motivation and good organizational skills.
* Good attention to detail.
* Good communication skills both written and verbal.
* Ability to identify and act upon process improvement opportunities.
FLT/HGV license will be an advantage.
