Senior Store Trading Merchandiser
H&T began serving communities in London in 1897. Since then we have expanded to become one of the oldest and leading pawnbrokers in the UK. In recent years, H&T has accelerated its development by adding new products and services, expanding the store network and developing a complete online service. Our continued investment in the business and the communities we serve has resulted in us being the largest pawnbroker in the UK and Scotland.
We are now seeking to add to our amazing team and require a Store Trading Merchandiser to join our amazing team based in within Rochester, Kent. This is a full time permanent opportunity, working 37.5 hours per week.
Role Summary
Leading, managing, and inspiring a diverse merchandising team ensuring that the team is motivated, well trained, engaged and empowered to perform their role effectively and efficiently. Proactively makes plans and measures the effectiveness of their team in achieving business targets and financial goals, ensuring control processes and success indicators are achieved.
Working collaboratively with internal teams to drive the overall store performance whilst managing stock flow and capacities.
You will provide a focus on store profiles, sharing this knowledge with the teams to strategically drive optimum stock placement in stores ensuring sales and profit targets are met.
Works with both internal and external stakeholders maintaining business relationships and contractual processes to ensure business objectives are met.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Leadership
Coaching, developing, and motivating the team to achieve personal and business goals, enhancing and refining their managerial and leadership competence in support of their team. Ensuring objectives and decision-making processes are clear, deliverable, and business orientated. Leading through example. Creating an environment of transparency and trust, advocating employee wellbeing. Key attention to detail across the allocation team to ensure stock proficiency. Taking ownership and accountability of the Store Trading team.
? Planning
Responsible for developing financial plans in accordance with business goals, utilising historical performance, trend analysis, and input from key stakeholders. Using data to plan stock for stores and ecommerce, ensuring stock is in the right place at the right time in the right quantities. Reviewing performance, highlighting strategic lessons learned to support retail strategy to achieve sales targets in the future.
Working closely with internal teams to ensure stock targets are achieved across the estate.
Partnering with key stakeholders to deliver a commercial product selection to achieve sales and profit targets.
? Trading
Responsible for trading stores and ecommerce, identifying and mitigating risks and maximising opportunities, taking action quickly on critical issues. Focus on protecting and maximising profit at all times. Management of accurate reporting to maximise stock efficiency and provide overview of risks and opportunities to Senior Management.
Key lead in internal team meetings, working collaboratively to achieve business targets.
Commercially aware, has knowledge of competitors and continuously reviews the marketplace.
? Promotional Activity
Plan all key trading events considering stock and sales targets. Management and implementation of all trading events, ensuring all promotions are compliant to EU Legislation.
Ensuring the plan is clear, realistic and in line with the seasonal promotional calendar. Ensuring stores meet the deadlines for key events to maximise sales opportunities.
? Commercial and Performance Focussed
Utilises quantitative and qualitative data to plan effectively and prioritise opportunities, specifically with regards to stock management requirements. Ensures stock and sales reporting is accurate across the estate. Is curious, and positively challenges the status quo, to enable, support and empower the store trading team in making data-driven decisions.
? Collaboration and Teamwork
Makes an active, supportive contribution across H&T. Cultivates a strong team ethic to maximise resource and talent effectiveness. Collaborates with teams across the business, forging strong professional relationships in accordance with their departmental goals and the businesses overall strategies / objectives.
? Communication
Uses excellent communication skills, written and verbal, to collaborate with all teams, internally and externally, developing relationships and solutions and at varying levels across the business. Will be able to deliver both positive and challenging messages. Makes sure that outcomes are agreed, clear and completed.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS :
? Proven ability to lead, coach and develop people. Confident in managing difficult/ under performance situations.
? Able to deliver strong presentations which include financial information and business strategies.
? Strong at prioritising workload and with a flexible attitude to change in priorities.
? Highly organised, commercially aware and professional. Attention to detail and accuracy is key.
? Strong analytical skills and solution-oriented thinking.
? Excellent communication and influencing skills
? Advanced computer skills: Excel is essential.
? Sound understanding of retail merchandising, with proven experience as a Merchandiser.
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS:
Work experience in jewellery, luxury goods or pre-owned product.
