Substance Misuse Recovery Worker
Location: Hertfordshire
Salary: £18.50 per hour (plus)
Are you passionate about supporting individuals in their recovery journey? Spencer Clarke Group are looking for a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join our client's team in Hertfordshire. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of those affected by substance misuse.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Effectively manage a caseload of service users with substance use issues, ensuring their needs are met and progress is achieved.
2. Conduct comprehensive substance use assessments, evaluating personal strengths, identifying risk factors, and addressing complex needs.
3. Develop, monitor, and review risk assessments and management plans to safeguard service users, families, and carers from harm.
4. Work collaboratively with service users to create person-centred recovery plans, utilising a strengths-based approach, in partnership with other professionals.
5. Deliver group intervention sessions, providing support and guidance to service users.
6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date case notes, reports, and documentation in line with policy and procedure.
7. Ensure timely and accurate reporting of service user data and treatment journey.
8. Work effectively with statutory and non-statutory agencies to address the broader needs of service users.
9. Deliver harm reduction interventions, including needle exchange and facilitating access to physical healthcare such as BBV and health screening.
Skills & Experience Required:
1. Strong understanding of substance misuse and its effects.
2. Proven experience of managing a caseload and working with individuals facing complex challenges.
3. Demonstrable skills in assessing risks to individuals and others.
4. Knowledge of effective engagement and intervention strategies, including harm reduction, suicide, and self-harm awareness.
5. Experience working in partnership with multiple agencies to deliver holistic care.
6. Relevant professional qualification in substance misuse, health, social care, or related fields (desirable).
