Marley specialises in pitched roof systems and is a division of Marshalls plc, the UK’s leading supplier of hard landscaping, building, and roofing products.
Our site at Gainsborough manufactures timber battens, decking, shingles and shakes for the domestic and commercial market. You would be joining our small but dedicated team of engineering experts who help keep the site running through planned and reactive maintenance.
So, if you are an apprentice-trained engineer or qualified to NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) or above, we would love to hear from you!
What's the role about?
Working as part of a skilled engineering team, your main responsibility will be to ensure the continuous running of the production process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault finding and equipment maintenance.
You’ll be involved in a variety of engineering tasks, ensuring a proactive approach to preventing equipment failure. Working on various types of equipment, including complex mechanical maintenance within hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic control systems, you’ll be responsible for carrying out a range of planned and reactive engineering activities on site, and there will be a true mix of mechanical and electrical maintenance.
Working hours per week on a 3-shift rotating pattern, you will do 2 weeks of nights (Sunday 10pm – Friday 6am), followed by a week of afters (Monday to Friday 2pm -10pm) and finally a week of earlies (6am-2pm). Due to our site in Gainsborough having a smaller Engineering team, it would be great if you have an element of flexibility to cover/change shifts in advance too.
What are the required skills?
* Apprentice-trained Engineer to NVQ Level 3 standard in Electrical Engineering, if you have the 18th Edition qualification that’s a bonus.
* Good working knowledge of electrical engineering within a heavy industrial/manufacturing environment.
* PLC experience fault finding skills are desirable, just so you know, we mainly use Siemens PLCS on site.
* A flexible approach to varying work activities, including production requirements.
* Good understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues and knowledge of regulatory requirements.
* A clear passion for engineering with a desire to learn and grow in the role.
