Summary Being a Visitor Experience Officer for the National Trust is all about people – connecting with them, inspiring them, and making sure they have the best possible day when they come to visit. At our mining sites in West Cornwall we have an important role to play in the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site sharing the internationally significant story of our places, including delivery of tours and inclusion on the duty manager rota. Celebrating Cornish distinctiveness is an important element of our work. The role will be largely based at East Pool Mine but also includes responsibility for marketing work across all our mining sites and occasional working out of Levant Mine and Botallack. A usual working week will be Sunday to Wednesday from March to October and Monday to Wednesday November to February. This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year What it's like to work here We're a small team working across a number of mining heritage sites in West Cornwall. Although this role is largely based at East Pool Mine there will be times where working from other sites may be required. You'll be responsible for social media for all sites. You'll report to the Visitor Operations and Experience Manager for the mining sites, with close working with the Welcome Manager for East Pool Mine and the Senior Programming and Partnerships Officer for the mining sites. What you'll be doing As Visitor Experience Officer, your main focus will be on providing a great service for visitors. You’ll be welcoming people and inspiring them to really get to know our mining sites in West Cornwall. This might include devising and running events and activities, and creating interpretive displays and other ways of bringing the place, and its stories, to life for everyone who comes here. You might be supervising and supporting volunteers and organising rotas. You’re likely to be checking standards of presentation on site, delivering and role modelling guided tours or helping to write for our web pages and producing social media content.
