Job Title: Personal Assistant to Lord Irwin
Location: Garrowby Hall, York, YO41 1QD
Role type: Full-time, fixed-term contract (maternity cover, expected 12 months).
The successful applicant will provide secretarial, administrative and management support for Lord Irwin’s personal and business interests.
This will involve organising certain aspects of his daily life and that of his partner and three children (8-14y/o) and will extend to the family’s business interests which include farming, shooting and property. A substantial part of the role will involve the running of Garrowby Hall alongside its housekeeping and maintenance staff, as well as managing a property in London and coordinating a house move.
THE CANDIDATE
1. You will be an efficient and organised self-starter, with a strong ability to prioritise and keen attention to detail.
2. You will be adaptable and flexible as the job is wide-ranging.
3. You will be a discreet, flexible and confident individual capable of managing others.
4. You will be IT-literate with an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
5. You must have excellent interpersonal skills to assist the smooth running of the household and to manage staff relationships.
6. As the role is based at Garrowby Hall, it will be necessary to feel relaxed in a small, rural community. You will have a full UK driving licence.
REMUNERATION, WORKING HOURS & HOLIDAY ENTITLEMENT

The successful applicant will be entitled to join the pension scheme, and the employer will contribute 6% of salary.
Working hours are 38.75 per week – Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm, with 45 minutes for lunch. It may at times be necessary to work outside these hours to properly fulfil the role, for which time off will be given in lieu.
Holiday entitlement is 29 working days including Public Holidays.
