We have an exciting opportunity for experienced Medical Secretaries to join the Walton Centre in the Neurology Division.
A good knowledge of medical terminology along with excellent keyboard, interpersonal and audio typing skills are essential.
You will be expected to undertake all administrative duties, be well organised, able to plan your own workload using your initiative and work to deadlines.
Main duties of the job
The Division of Neurology is responsible for a wide range of clinical and non-clinical services, including a comprehensive Neurological outpatient service, provided across 15 hospitals. This role will specifically provide administrative support and provide a comprehensive secretarial service for our Neurology Consultants.
You must:
* Have previous medical secretarial experience
* Have an extensive knowledge of medical terminology

Qualifications
* RSA III
* Good Standard of Literacy and Numeracy
* Previous experience as a Medical Secretary
Knowledge & Experience
* Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision
* Able to use personal initiative when prioritising workloads
* Ability to maintain accurate patient information.
* Ability to adhere to the Data Protection Act and national/local guidelines concerning patient confidentiality
* Knowledge and experience of medical terminology
* Knowledge of hospital PAS system.
Skills & Attributes
* Ability to communicate effectively with patients, relatives
* Associated professional staff and management
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Willingness to undertake further training as required
