Assistant Care Manager
Job Type: Full-Time, 35 hours a week, working on a rota basis.
Job Setting: Care Home / Nursing Home.
Job Location: Bridlington Manor Care Home, 126 Cardigan Road, Bridlington, East Yorkshire.
Required Experience: 2 years Assistant Manager experience and hold or are studying for NVQ L3 or the Diploma L3 in Social Care and Management and be PC literate.

Description:
The successful applicants will lead and be responsible for a team of staff, to deliver services of high quality that are individually planned. They will be responsible for the supervision of a staff team and manage the services they deliver. The successful applicants will be required to assume On Call responsibility for the services, out of office hours, on a rota basis. It is essential to hold or be studying for NVQ L3 or the Diploma L3 in Social Care and Management. Salary to be agreed. A pension will be offered to the successful candidate this year. Meals provided whilst on duty and own transport is an advantage.
Responsible To: The Registered Care Manager and Care Home Owner.
1. To assist the Registered Care Manager in the running of the Home and take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the service in her absence.
2. To manage the provision of Care and Support Services to people living in the home and be flexible in one's own availability.
3. In consultation with the Registered Manager, co-ordinate a high standard of care and support that is planned to meet the individual’s needs.
4. To conduct the business in an honest and reputable manner, with commitment to the implementation of equality of opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice.
5. To provide sufficient support, identify and report any training needs for each staff member, encouraging their own professional development.
6. To promote and monitor safe standards of work practice by employees in all working environments.
7. To work within a predetermined budget.
Full Job Details:
DIRECT CARE
1. To participate in the planning and implementation of individual care, to meet the perceived needs of each Service User.
2. To deliver flexible support to people using services, in accordance with their plan of care and support.
3. To participate in the review of each person’s service, to ensure it remains appropriate to meeting their needs.
4. To undertake Risk Assessment of employees working environment and practices, working within Health & Safety Legislation.
5. To monitor staff in the delivery of services and feedback to the Registered Manager.
6. To maintain discipline of the staff in a professional manner at all times.
7. To be familiar with employment law.
8. To lead by example and provide hands-on care/support within the home.
LINE MANAGEMENT
1. To assist in effective line management support and supervision of the staff team.
2. To be responsible for the appraisal of a delegated staff team.
3. To delegate tasks and responsibilities to other staff members effectively.
4. To offer mentoring support to new staff.
5. To participate, as required, in disciplinary/grievance procedures.
PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To be aware of and promote the requirements of relevant legislation.
2. In the absence of the Registered Manager, assume responsibility for the provision of services and line management of staff.
3. To complete written records competently, as required.
4. To participate in a staff working rota authorized by the Registered Care Manager.
5. To attend and participate in team management and professional meetings.
6. To respect and practice professional confidentiality.
7. To represent the company in a professional manner.
POLICY DEVELOPMENT
1. To monitor and review the effectiveness of new and existing policy.
2. To promote the development of Self-Directed Support.
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
1. To keep up to date with provision of care and support and legal requirements.
