The vacancy is for our newly open service in Bradford for clients with learning disability and complex care needs, where people we support are at the forefront of this mission. The Role To be accountable to the Team Manager for leading the team and to participate in direct care of the service users. Ensure the team work in a pro-active, responsive, effective and person-centred way to ensure that the lives of the people you and the team being supported are enriched. Key Responsibilities: Manage rotas ensuring these are used to the best effect for the physical; social and emotional care of the service users. This includes but it’s not limited to: Be a key member of the rostering team. Take responsibility for all elements of the rostering process to ensure adequate shift coverage and that employees are paid correctly first time by submitting accurate rostering sheets to payroll. Ensure that agency is only used as last resort and that approval is sought appropriately. Ensure that all agency staff undergo induction. Provide flexible cover for colleagues in the event of holidays, sickness and emergencies. To lead, direct, supervise and support staff working within the service in providing a network of services which can respond flexibly to the needs of the service users as individuals. This includes but it’s not limited to: Ensure the Support Workers endorse Rehability’s values. Responsible for clear lines of communication ensuring employees are fully conversant with their duties. Undertake supervisions and appraisals. Support and participate in any training requirements. Take appropriate action to remedy any unsatisfactory employee performance, recording any significant action. Ensure all medications, including controlled drugs are administered, recorded, maintained and replenished at all times in accordance with the Medications Policy. Ensure care is delivered in accordance with the Care Plan. Adhere to policies and procedures. Monitor and re-evaluate care needs in partnership with the service user. Share in caring tasks with other team members and contribute to assessments; reviews and case conferences. Assist and support relatives and carers. To work flexibly to meet the operational needs of the scheme, which includes working shifts including, days, nights, weekends and bank holidays and covering on the rota and on-call duties. Attend and participate within team meetings and service user reviews. Participate in the local on-call rota and on call duties. With support from the line manager, ensure the services provided adhere to Rehability UK values, organisational policies, procedures and work practices including service and CQC requirements. This includes but it’s not limited to: To support the Team Manager, to implement monitor and review health and safety practice in all aspects of the service, including risk assessments, to ensure full compliance with policy, procedure and statutory requirements. Maintain a safe work environment. Review and ensure the accuracy of risk assessments. Keep up to date with Health and Safety Policies. Carry out statutory Fire Safety Checks. Ensure accidents and incidents are reported and recorded in compliance with the Health and Safety Policy. Carry out Health and Safety inspections including service vehicles, household. Monitoring the Health, Safety and Wellbeing of Service Users. Any other duties necessary for the smooth and efficient running of the service in respect of service users, staff, professional practice or administrative procedures. Support the service user to develop their social and personal skills providing encouragement and support both in their home and in the community. Maintain appropriate financial records including management of service user money. Where agreed, support service users to budget / control their personal monies with proper accounting of expenditure. Promote and advocate good relations with the local community; relatives and carers. Person specification Essential Experience of working with people with Learning Difficulties/ Mental Health/Autism/ Complex Needs. Supervisory experience. QCF Level 3 or working towards. Hold a current driving licence.
