Role Overview
The Head Teacher will lead the school in delivering its unique educational vision, ensuring the integration of Steiner-inspired methodologies within the curriculum. This role requires a dynamic leader who can inspire staff, engage with the community, and uphold the school's ethos.
Key Responsibilities
1. Educational Leadership: Oversee the development and implementation of a curriculum that harmoniously blends Steiner principles with the school's educational objectives as outlined in our Vision and Values document (attached). Within the upper school, promote and support the implementation of the NZCSE qualification for our Upper School students.
2. Staff Management: Recruit, mentor, and support teaching and administrative staff, promoting continuous professional development and fostering a collaborative environment.
3. Community Engagement: Cultivate strong relationships with students, parents, trustees, and the wider community, ensuring transparent communication and active participation in school activities.
4. Operational Oversight: Manage the school's daily operations, including budgeting, resource allocation, and compliance with regulatory standards.
5. Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the Board of Trustees to set and achieve long-term goals, enhancing the school's growth and sustainability.

Qualifications and Experience
1. Proven teaching and leadership experience in a Steiner or Steiner-inspired educational setting and/or alternative education systems that have a hands-on approach with a clear link to child development. Strong understanding and experience of Steiner educational philosophy and its practical application.
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse stakeholders.
3. Financial acumen and experience in school administration.
4. Commitment to fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
