If so, your practical and empathetic skills make you our Peabody Handyperson! Come and join our Specialist Housing Management team, keeping our residents’ flats and or accommodation well maintained and safe.
As a Handyperson you’ll play a crucial role supporting the practical needs of residents by providing a minor maintenance service and completing regular fire alarm testing along with health and safety checks so we can ensure we provide a safe environment for our residents to live and enjoy their independence!
Our supported housing is a mixture of shared and self-contained accommodation, which offer different levels of support. These include residents who need support with their Mental health or have physical and learning disabilities. You’ll need to be out and about across our supported housing properties across Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire. You’re working days are flexible (four days per week), however we would like you to work on a Tuesday and Thursday (if possible), to coincide with our current fire testing days.
To be successful in this role, you’re:
1. Ability to perform tasks such as weekly fire alarm testing, basic plumbing work, minor re-decoration, and furniture repair or any basic DIY jobs.
2. Knowledgeable of safety protocols and procedures related to maintenance and repair work.
3. Commitment to delivering excellent customer experience, including the ability to work alongside vulnerable people and build professional relationships.
4. Able to work across a broad geographic region, have a driving licence and access to a vehicle.
