Join our Highways, Transport & Operations team on a fixed-term basis to provide leave and sickness cover for our existing team, ensuring vital services continue to run smoothly. About the Role As an Environmental Driver, you will play a key role in delivering essential waste management services across the borough. This includes: Door-to-door domestic waste and recycling collections, ensuring all routes are completed efficiently and on time. Providing assisted collections for residents who require additional support. Delivering and collecting bins and managing the removal of bagged waste where necessary. Supporting commercial waste and recycling services to local businesses. You’ll be responsible for route planning, ensuring vehicle safety through regular maintenance checks, and operating equipment such as hoists, tail lifts, and weight load indicators. Maintaining excellent health and safety standards is critical, as is delivering exceptional customer service by responding promptly to queries or concerns and ensuring bins are returned neatly after collection. About You We’re looking for a professional and reliable team player who: Holds a full Category C driving licence. Has a Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC). Has experience in waste management, grounds maintenance, or street cleansing. Understands health and safety practices and can operate vehicles and machinery safely.
