The Christie NHS Trust's Digital Service welcomes applications to this new Digital Trainer role. The right person for the role would be passionate about digital skills training and willing to make a positive difference in our digital training delivery.
It is for a 12 month fixed term post within the Digital Clinical Implementer team. The postholder will be responsible for delivering specialist Microsoft 365 training across the Trust, catering to all staff groups and Trust locations through face-to-face sessions, virtual training, and the development of digital resources.
As part of the Digital Clinical Implementer team, the post holder will work alongside Digital Trainers specialising in clinical systems to promote the effective use of Microsoft 365 applications, supporting staff to work more efficiently and deliver improved services.
The post holder will lead on delivering initial digital content and support the shift towards a more digitally focused approach. They will also monitor the realisation of benefits from the training, such as improved productivity and cost savings, working closely with the digital systems team to evaluate outcomes.
The right candidate will have a proven track record in training development and delivery to staff of all levels with key skills in developing high quality training materials.
The ability to travel to all sites where The Christie offers services will be required.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be integral to the Trust's use of Microsoft 365. They will be designing and delivering a flexible range of Microsoft 365 training programmes tailored to meet the varied needs of end-users across Trust sites, ensuring that the training meets the needs of those with accessibility requirements.
The post holder will work in collaboration with Digital Service Delivery and the Christie Education Teams to plan, schedule and create content for this work.
The post holder will be conducting and updating training needs assessments to evaluate staff proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, ensuring learning programmes address diverse levels of IT literacy.
They will ensure that accurate records of all training are maintained.
The postholder will develop and manage a Superuser system within departments, providing training, coaching, and support to designated staff members.
Job responsibilities
Training Responsibilities
1. Work under the direction of the Digital Matron, maintaining positive working relationships with the Christie Education team and Digital Services teams.
2. Design and deliver a flexible range of Microsoft 365 training programmes tailored to meet the varied needs of end-users across Trust sites.
3. Conduct and update training needs assessments to evaluate staff proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, ensuring learning programmes address diverse levels of IT literacy.
4. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify their training requirements, adapting delivery styles and materials to suit individuals and group dynamics.
5. Plan and schedule training courses in coordination with colleagues in the Education Team.
6. Deliver training through multiple formats, including classroom-based teaching, virtual sessions, one-to-one coaching, small group workshops, and on-the-job training.
7. Ensure all training aligns with legal and ethical obligations, including the Data Protection Act, Health & Safety legislation, Freedom of Information, and Trust policies on system access and security.
8. Handle complex questions and challenges in the training environment, referring issues to senior team members if required.
9. Work with the Digital Training Team to create online learning resources, such as e-guides and e-learning content.
10. Develop and manage a Superuser system within departments, providing training, coaching, and support to designated staff members.
