What skills and experience we're looking for
The Governing Body of St Edward’s School is seeking to appoint an inspirational and dynamic Headteacher who can build on the school’s current strengths and successes and continue to build for the future.
St Edward’s is a highly oversubscribed joint Roman Catholic and Church of England, co-educational school, which received a strongly “Good” Ofsted judgement in 2022, and has had three consecutive “Outstanding” church school inspections. The school has been recognised at national level for teaching excellence and its strong regard for staff wellbeing.
We are looking to appoint a practising Christian to lead our school who will:
· Have a principled, values-driven vision for excellence in all aspects of school life.
· Be able to demonstrate a strong practising faith and be committed to the ethos and vision of the school, ensuring that it reflects the rich traditions of the partner churches.
· Recognise that every role in the school is of equal value, and contributes towards forming an inspirational centre of learning and formation.
· Provide clear and precise leadership, nurturing and inspiring others to achieve to the highest of standards.
· Be a strong and inspiring communicator, able to engage all stakeholders in the school’s upward trajectory.
· Be committed to continuing and growing effective partnerships with our families, parishes and dioceses, other schools in BCP, partner organisations and agencies, and the local community.
· Ensure that the needs of every child are met and that they are inspired to meet their true potential.
· A secure grasp of strategic planning and financial management, and a deep understanding of their use in securing outstanding resources for the formation of people.
