The Manufacturing Services Systems Engineer is responsible for troubleshooting, repair, diagnostics, and calibration of a wide range of Automated and Robotic Welding Systems, including bespoke welding equipment and other computer-controlled equipment.
An exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Services System Engineer role has arisen within the New Build and Components Business, in Nuclear (Submarines).
The purpose of this role is to provide support to the Manufacturing Services Manager to ensure the organisation's objectives and goals are delivered. Take responsibility for coordinating troubleshooting, fault finding, defining the technical basis of maintenance, and acting as technical support SMEs for automated and robotic welding systems.

What you will be doing:
You will perform a range of system tasks across a broad range of Automated and Robotic Welding Systems, including bespoke welding equipment and other computer-controlled equipment. Establishing and maintaining suitable archiving systems for software and machine parameters for aforementioned equipment.
1. Collect, organise, and analyse data in support of Key Performance Indicators for the Manufacturing Services Department as required.
2. Provide technical assistance relating to machine or process failure to other supporting service functions. Coordinate with OEM and machine specialists. If requested, support other business units within Rolls Royce and any manufacturing suppliers to Rolls Royce.
3. Suggest improvements to work instructions to optimise the maintenance strategy and be responsible for defining the technical basis of maintenance.
4. Responsible for reliability engineering and identifying and implementing projects to increase machine reliability and in turn an uplift in availability of equipment.
Who we're looking for:
To be successful in this role you will need to meet the following criteria:
1. Have experience in a similar role such as senior service, control systems engineer, or applications engineer on automated welding systems or transferable systems.
2. Experience in root cause analysis and eliminating or reducing such occurrences.
3. Good understanding of industry regulations and best practices of asset management and production maintenance.
4. Self-motivated, amiable, energetic individual with strong cross-functional working behaviours and the ability to lead and influence at all levels of the organisation.
Desirable:
1. Have experience of automated welding processes and inputs/requirements.
2. An expert in control systems and how they integrate with equipment.
To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don't currently have this in place. Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets, you must hold a UK nationality. Any dual nationals will require additional scrutiny and background checks prior to commencing work with RRSL.
