In this role we are looking for someone to manage payroll for the UK-based team and to support the international team. The role will focus on payroll operations, tax obligations, personnel administration, employment contracts and working cross-country within Europe with a focus on reporting information used for accounting purposes. To be successful in this role you will be a payroll specialist operating at Manager level. You will have knowledge of the UK tax system, experience of supporting internationally based colleagues, prior experience of systems migration and working with the HR team to ensure employment contracts are administered correctly. You will have worked in a finance team partnering with the HR function or have been part of a HR team partnering with finance, you will operate in a role that supports both functions to ensure staff payrolled, taxed and administered efficiently to the highest standards of legal compliance. Knowledge of Global Mobility taxation issues will be an advantage as is experience of Workday. Duties will include: Payroll Management: Oversee the payroll function working with the external providers in the UK, ensuring compliance with tax legislation, PAYE, and NI requirements. International Collaboration: Partner with HR and Finance teams based in Europe to create payroll operations and implementing best practices to globalise the function. Contract Drafting: Using your knowledge to ensure that employment contracts are compliant with UK and local country legislative requirements. Global mobility: You will work with legal and tax advisors to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and to ensure company policy reflects legal requirements. Administrative duties: Supporting VISA and work permit applications, ensuring the proper use of the Workday system, improving responsiveness to queries via a new ticketing system. This is a broad role and we are looking for someone with the following qualifications and attributes: Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in employment tax with knowledge of UK regulations Technical Skills: Expertise in UK employment tax legislation (PAYE, NIC), Proficiency in payroll systems, ideally Workday ADP and Active Payroll. Soft Skills: Analytical strength, good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Continuous Improvement: Prior experience delivering process enhancements by implementing data-driven payroll solutions that drive efficiency and improve employee satisfaction. Process Improvement and Documentation: Prior experience of updating and refining policies and procedures to ensure alignment with payroll standards and tax requirements.
