Portsmouth Water is excited to announce an opportunity for a Facilities Operative to join our dedicated Facilities team.
Working under the guidance of our Facilities Manager, you’ll be essential in managing the daily operations and upkeep of our Head Office. In addition, you’ll be involved in planned maintenance and operational projects across our Pumping Stations along the south coast.
What will you be doing?
Key Responsibilities
1. Maintain and refurbish Property including Head Office and Pumping Stations.
2. Fit out of Fleet vehicles.
3. Maintain Joiners workshop, machines, and tools.
4. Ladder Checks across the business.
5. Asbestos checks and register.
6. Legionella checks and register.
7. MEWP maintenance and use.
8. Tower scaffold use.
9. Risk Assessments and COSHH Assessments.
10. Provide an excellent level of customer service to internal and external customers.
What do you need?
Skills and Qualifications
1. Proven working experience within the multi trades of the Construction industry or the Facilities maintenance industry.
2. Carpentry & Joinery skills gained within a similar role.
3. Domestic and/or commercial Plumbing skills.
4. Decorating skills.
5. Strong communication skills.
6. The ability to carry out risk assessments in line with health & safety and within regulations.
7. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
8. The ability to work within a team and on own initiative.
9. A full driving licence is essential.
10. A City and Guilds qualification or equivalent within the construction or facilities industry is essential.
11. IPAF MEWP training desired, but not essential as training will be provided.
12. PASMA Tower Scaffold desired, but not essential as training will be provided.
