PE Global is currently recruiting for an Electrical, Control and Instrument Technician for a perm role with a leading multinational pharma client based in Speke.
The Shift EC&I Technician is a multi-skilled role that works as a core member of the site Maintenance Team, providing critical support to operations across site during core and non-core hours.
The Shift Technician will be self-directed, making decisions on priorities during breakdown situations, in often time critical high-pressure situations. They will carry out maintenance and repair of electrical, control and instrumentation equipment across all Manufacturing and support Facilities in conformance with the maintenance processes and relevant cGMP, Engineering and Environmental, Health & Safety standards.
Job Responsibilities
• Carry out multiskilled planned and corrective maintenance and repairs to relevant standards and in accordance with the site PAM maintenance processes and to meet manufacturers specifications and guidelines. Ensure equipment is available to meet safety quality and production needs across all facilities on site. Specific duties include:
o Isolation and de-isolation of 3.3KV equipment.
o Fault finding on 415vac equipment.
o Fault finding and calibrations to GMP standards on pressure, temperature, flow, pH, humidity etc loops and individual local instrumentation.
o Response to and interrogation of Fire alarm systems, support ERMT in details for emergencies.
• Use diagnostic tools and experience to identify equipment and process problems and identify modes of failure and/or deviations and/or root causes. Report critical failures immediately to support investigations.
o Technical support to Shift leaders (Site responsible person) to facilitate appropriate decision making.
o Where skills/training/authorisation exist technician may carry out fault finding through PLC coding (ladder logic).
• Complete records e.g. CMMS work orders, datasheets, stores requisitions, equipment logs, data calculation sheets and performance standards following cGMP guidelines, participate in the update of SOPs relevant to the role. Prepare incident reports to assist with RCI/deviations.
• Improvement projects: Assisting installation and upgrading of plant equipment to improve reliability and performance. Development & improvement of operating procedures & risk assessments.
• Workshop activities: Facilities used in accordance with safe working practices and to support tasks carried out on plant eg repairs and refurbishment of control equipment which includes dismantling and detailed cleaning of equipment and components for overhaul and bench testing.
• Execute work in accordance Safer Speke through safe working practices, safe systems of
• work and risk assessment. Look for and report EHS issues. Report EHS incidents and participate in root cause investigations and identification of countermeasures to prevent recurrence.
• Operate and maintain the full range of process control equipment.
• Use business systems to support admin tasks (CMMS system, e-mail, HSE tracks, success factors
• Own their individual Learning Plan and ensure training is kept current, share specialist skills and information gained through experience. Undertake further training as appropriate, to enhance current craft skills and assist in the training of new personnel when necessary.
• Constantly participates in the Performance Management processes about the setting of objectives and the development and the implementation of a personal development plan.
Requirements
• Job holder should have completed a recognised apprenticeship and obtained a NVQ Level 3, ONC or HNC (Or equivalent) qualification in the Electrical, Instrument or Control discipline.
