An exciting opportunity hasarisen for an enthusiastic, well-motivated Registered Nurse, Midwife or AHP registeredhealth care professional to join the Resuscitation Service at South Tynesideand Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust as a Resuscitation Officer.
You will be part of a dynamicand exciting team who support colleagues across a variety of settings to betrained to a high level in all aspects of resuscitation. The team supportcolleagues throughout the organization with all aspects of resuscitation.
This post is offered on apermanent basis and the successful candidate will be supported to completefurther training and programmes to enhance their skills within the role asresuscitation officer.
Main duties of the job
This is an excellent opportunityfor ongoing professional development.The role will incorporate supporting, planning and delivery of trainingat all levels, giving advice across the Trust, and contributing towards a high standardof resuscitation practice. The post holder will attend as part of the arrestteam when available.
The successful candidate willalso support development of policies and procedures, be involved in local andnational audits and other projects to influence improvements in all aspects of resuscitationand associated practice, including deterioration recognition.
We require candidates to be aRegistered Nurse, Midwife or HCPC registered health care professional and haverelevant post qualifying experience. They must have relevant resuscitationteaching experience and hold a teaching qualification.
We are looking for flexible teamplayers who can positively influence service delivery and also work using theirown initiative. Hours: 37.5 hours per week.
Usual pattern - Monday toFriday. Occasional work outside of thisto meet service needs.

Job responsibilities

TheResuscitation Officer (RO) will support delivery of both basic life support,advanced life support and associated training throughout South Tyneside andSunderland NHS Foundation Trust (STSFT, the Trust) and support effectiveoperational delivery of this training.
The ResuscitationOfficer will deputise for the Senior Resuscitation Officer (SRO) in theirabsence or in areas of delegated / designated responsibility.
The RO will beexpected to respond to adult cardiac arrest calls, paediatric emergency calls,acting as an expert member of the team and facilitating experiential learningand team debrief.
The RO will Supportresuscitation associated audit programmes across the Trust and lead on specificaudits with designated responsibility from the SRO encouraging evidence-basedpractice Trust wide by contributing to the development and revision of Trustresuscitation and associated guidelines, policies, procedures and training inthe light of new research and audit.
The RO will supporteffective use of all resuscitation training equipment within the Trust andcontribute to the appropriate maintenance of such equipment.
To act asprofessional resource for all staff within the Trust. To influence cardiacarrest prevention by supporting organisational approaches to deteriorationrecognition across the Trust.

Qualifications
* Professional registration (e.g. Nursing, Midwifery or AHP).
* Degree in healthcare-related subject (or UK equivalent).
* Mentorship certificate/Practice Assessor or demonstrable equivalent teaching experience.
* Experience of working with the resuscitation service or wider comparable experience such as training at instructor level as below;
* Current ILS or ALS certificate.
* Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
* Knowledge and understanding of current resuscitation guidelines.
* Current ALS/APLS/EPLS/pILS certificate.
* ILS/pILS/ALS/APLS Instructor or Instructor. Potential/Candidate Status.
* Completion of AIMS/ALERT course.
* Clinical Skills Course.
Physical Skills
* Regular moving and Handling will be regular occurrence in this role.
* Work cross site at STDH and SRH as needed and community venues as needed.
