About the role
The Family and Education Case Manager worker will work alongside Berry Street’s Side by Side team, to engage with Aboriginal students and families in three identified primary schools within the Latrobe Shire.
About You
1. Commitment and understanding for the values that underpin VACCA’s vision and purpose
2. A tertiary qualification in Education, Social Work, Welfare or other related discipline and/or experience working with Schools and the Education sector is highly desirable
3. Experience in working and engaging with Aboriginal families and children
4. Demonstrated experience in child and family sector
5. Understanding of child development, and the impact trauma can have on a child’s development
6. Ability to work in a team and with key stakeholders particularly within school communities
7. Ability to maintain records compliant with legislation and standards and data systems for reporting and planning
8. Effective and culturally appropriate interpersonal skills e.g. active listening, empathy in all verbal and non-verbal communications
Requirements : Current COVID-19 vaccination (including booster dose, as applicable), a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain), and a Victorian Driver Licence.
