An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic PMO Co-ordinator to join our Information Systems Portfolio Management Team to provide support to Northern Powergrid Information Systems Portfolio related projects and programmes, and ensure they are correctly aligned to relevant policy, finance, governance, change control, transition to support and reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
• Raise and receipt purchase orders in the Core Financial System (CFS)
• Investigating and resolution of invoice queries (holds-report and queries raised by suppliers and Accounts Payable)
• Maintain records as well as programme and project file structures (T drive and SharePoint)
• Assist and advise leaders, managers, and teams on the best use of project management disciplines and approaches within a fast-paced, high-tech environment
• Act as a reference point for PMO queries and information and be an advocate for best practices in project management
• Quality Assure Project Briefs and Business Cases and recommend changes designed to aid formal approval
• Project Governance Gateway (facilitating Gateway Criteria setting workshops with leaders
and teams in different parts of the organisation, coordinating reviews and reporting non-compliance
• Collation of status reporting across multiple programmes, projects and business functions
• Effective tracking and communication of project status and associated metrics
• Administration of project management framework, processes, and tools
• Continuous improvement support the creation and improvement of processes, procedures, and tools
• Service any forums involved in the effective management of the portfolio of IS initiatives
• Support the financial administration of IS programmes and projects
• Share lessons learnt and best practices across programmes, building relationships with stakeholders and brokering relationships at all levels
• Maintain project management documentation templates, associated instructions
and the central IS Lessons Learnt Register
• Develop positive relationships with leaders and teams to enhance the PMO service
offering; facilitation, tracking, reporting and training throughout the project lifecycle
• Understand the deliverables of internal and external PMO customers and contribute to success
through collaborative processes
• Analyse compliance and improve adherence to NPg project management standards and processes
• Develop and maintain a basic understanding of policies and procedures as relevant to processes
Skills/Main Competencies:

•Ability to derive appropriate levels of governance to be applied to a diverse range of projects and programmes
•Experienced user of MS Office toolset (Word, Excel and Outlook) as well as CFS
Essential Qualifications:
Prince2 Foundation and a good working knowledge of the Prince2 methodology
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience/Knowledge of working in a Portfolio Management environment.
Prince2 Practitioner
Accreditation in an AGILE methodology
MSP (Foundation) - Foundation Certificate in Managing
Successful Programmes
Experience of applying Risk Management principles/processes
Degree or equivalent in an IT related discipline
Essential Experience:
•Previous experience in a Programme/Portfolio management office role – minimum of 3 years
•Proven PMO/Project Practitioner experience and knowledge of project management standards, tools and techniques
•Proven experience in providing service to internal stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes
Desirable Experience:
•Previous experience of an IT Portfolio Management Office in a large UK utility sector
•Working experience of Portfolio Management Tools, for example Service Now.
•Working knowledge of both a structured and AGILE project delivery approach
•Raising and receipting purchase orders as well as ability to investigate invoice anomalies
