The Inventory Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting the planning, execution, and monitoring of inventory count-related activities to ensure compliance with Controllership and KPMG Governance. This position contributes to the successful execution of inventory audits, supports retail operations aligned to Inventory Processes, and aids in the development of data-driven insights to mitigate losses and improve efficiency.
Primary Responsibilities
Inventory Count Coordination:
* Assist in the development and execution of inventory count schedules, ensuring adherence to timelines and governance standards to deliver inventory accuracy.
* Coordinate with store teams and third-party providers to ensure efficient and accurate inventory count processes.
* Monitor inventory counts to identify discrepancies, escalate issues, and recommend corrective actions.
Compliance and Process Adherence
* Support adherence to corporate inventory governance policies through structured validations throughout inventory count.
* Provide guidance to store teams on one best way inventory procedures and best practices to maintain consistency.
Data Analysis and Reporting
* Compile and validate inventory data, ensuring accuracy for reporting purposes.
* Assist in preparing reports on inventory performance, including trends, anomalies, and actionable insights.
Stakeholder Collaboration
* Act as a point of contact between retail teams, third-party providers, and Loss Prevention leadership to facilitate inventory activities.
* Support communication efforts by relaying key inventory-related updates to retail.
Performance Monitoring
* Track inventory metrics and key performance indicators (SLAs) to evaluate compliance and operational success.
* Proactively identify and address risks associated with inventory management, escalating issues as required.
* Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy and reduce inefficiencies.
Essential Skills and Requirements
Technical Expertise:
* Knowledge of inventory management principles and audit practices.
* Familiarity with retail inventory systems, auditing tools, and data visualisation platforms (e.g., Power BI, SAP).
* Ability to analyse inventory data and recognize patterns, discrepancies to ensure accuracy of count.
Communication and Collaboration:
* Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
* Capacity to build relationships and influence outcomes across diverse teams.
Problem-Solving:
* Detail-oriented approach to identifying and addressing inventory-related issues.
* Innovative thinking to recommend solutions that align with organisational goals.
Flexibility and Adaptability:
* Capability to manage competing priorities and adapt to evolving business needs.
* This role is field-based involving travelling to Asda sites and out-of-hours work to complete inventory counts and other initiatives.
