This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, capable, and motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Healthcare Assistant for the Pain Management service.
The role is varied and requires someone who is flexible, able to work well within a busy environment, and can demonstrate their ability to prioritise and organise workload.
This role involves supporting patients during their appointments and assisting in patient recovery following procedures.
Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who can display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.
Main duties of the job
* Work alongside a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality, compassionate care.
* Perform clinical and non-clinical duties under supervision of Registered Practitioners.
* Carry out clinical tasks such as blood pressure monitoring, oxygen saturation, temperature, pulse, respiration, glucose testing, and sample collection, ensuring high standards of patient care.
* Participate in patient assessments and escalate concerns appropriately.
* Follow infection prevention, health, and safety policies.
* Maintain a safe and clean work environment, including equipment maintenance and ordering supplies.
* Input data into electronic and written patient records, respecting confidentiality and data protection policies.
Person Specification
Knowledge and Experience (Essential)
* Experience in healthcare or social care settings.
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Good time management and prioritisation skills.
Qualifications (Essential)
* Level 3 qualification such as City and Guilds 3, NVQ 3, BTEC National Diploma, or equivalent experience.
* Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Math or equivalent.
* Completion of Level 3 Diploma in Healthcare Support or equivalent experience.
Aptitude & Abilities (Essential)
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to complete documentation accurately.
* Awareness of healthcare policies and procedures.
