Your new company A leading Public Sector client is looking for a Portfolio Manager to join their team. The role of the team is to ensure that there is quality assurance on programmes/projects and to report on progress, key issues and risks to enable key decisions to be made in a timely manner. To develop a culture of adopting best practice to ensure consistency and clearer visibility for all programmes and projects. To lead and support project Page 2 of 9 delivery by providing advice and guidance on managing projects which will enable successful project delivery within scope, budget and cost. To ensure visibility and insight around the performance, status & health of the Operations portfolio through dashboards in order to support effective portfolio decision-making. Your new role • To provide oversight and ensure transparency of area and range of projects aligned to the Operations Portfolio and Trust's strategic objectives • Oversee major initiative or programme of work to ensure PMO processes are adhered to • Ensure that programme and project deliverables are tightly linked to the achievement of the Trust's strategic objectives • Support, facilitate and monitor progress of programme and projects against agreed KPIs • Support delivery and pace of projects within remit • Design, develop and deliver training programmes across organisation to support project leads • Assist and support the Programme Director to ensure project plans, risk logs highlight reports and project documentation is up-to-date and of a high quality • To ensure adherence to PMO project lifecycle and embedding of PMO processes and governance within the Organisation • Represent the Trust at internal and external programme board meetings • Deputise for Programme Director What you'll need to succeed You will have demonstrable experience of working as either a Project Manager/Portfolio manager ideally with a background within charity/council or NHS. This preferable but not essential. You will have a strong understanding of Projects and the full project lifecycle from Implementation all the way through to Go live. You will be detail orientated, with excellent presentation skills as presenting to senior Stakeholders is a core part of the role. The candidate must possess a Full driving licence as the candidate will have to travel between multiple locations outside of the Crawley HQ from time to time. You will have excellent stakeholder communication and influencing skills and possess a project management qualification.
