Job Role : Production Planner Location: Caerphilly Position: Full-Time (Monday – Friday) Salary: £32,000 - £38,000 per annum About Us: I am working with a leading provider in the food sector, committed to delivering high-quality products while ensuring excellent service. They are looking for a dedicated and dynamic Production Planner to join their team and contribute to the smooth and efficient operation of their manufacturing and customer service processes. Key Responsibilities: Strive for 100% service level across the customer base, ensuring timely and efficient delivery. Maximise stock levels to ensure service levels while minimizing waste. Establish, maintain, and encourage positive relationships with customer supply chain partners. Maintain a flexible working pattern that aligns with the demands of the business. Develop and communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) related to service levels across the business. Actively participate in and drive the implementation of manufacturing systems to improve efficiency. Ensure all scheduling activities optimise production line performance and enhance business profitability. Proactively identify and drive system improvements where possible. Main Duties: Obtain and utilise the latest customer forecasts to drive planning. Participate in customer contact conference calls, providing valuable insights and updates. Monitor all work-in-progress (WIP) and on-site finished goods stocks. Monitor finished goods stocks in third-party consolidators to ensure availability. Produce accurate demand plans to meet service level requirements. Receive and interpret customer orders to generate demand plans Regularly review manufacturing progress, addressing any issues as they arise. Effectively communicate all planning activities to the business. Advise customer supply chain teams of any potential supply issues. Qualifications and Skills: Proven experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain management, preferably in the food industry. Strong understanding of service level agreements (SLAs), stock management, and forecasting. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Ability to think proactively and make improvements to systems and processes. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Flexibility to adapt to the evolving demands of the business.
