Position: Temporary Works Design Engineer - Environment (Water)
What you will be doing:
You will be responsible for activities related to the production of Temporary Works Design, ensuring compliance with Business Management Systems (BMS) and CDM regulations. This includes designing and checking temporary works such as excavations, working platforms, formwork, falsework, and scaffolding. The role also involves providing alternative solutions, value engineering, buildability assessments, and resolving specification compliance issues.
About You:
* Civil or Structural Engineering Degree (or higher)
* Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, including The Health and Safety at Work Act and CDM regulations
* Good understanding of structural mechanics and soil mechanics fundamentals
* Previous design experience with contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, or consultants
* Proficiency in computer-aided drafting and structural/geotechnical analysis software
* Willingness to pursue membership of professional bodies such as IStructE
