An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maternity Matron at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust to provide leadership for the maternity outpatients including community midwifery and our specialist services.

Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible to the Deputy Head of Midwifery (DHOM) and will work closely with senior midwives, senior nurses, midwives, nurses and colleagues within the multi-disciplinary team in order to deliver and develop high quality, safe clinical services within budget. Under the leadership of the DHOM the post holder will contribute to the delivery of key national targets in accordance with the Trust's performance management framework.
The post holder will be highly visible in their clinical area in order to lead the development of clinical standards and midwifery practice, new roles and advanced practice in line with the delivery and redesign of hospital services. The post holder will spend a percentage of their working time in clinical practice in order to maintain a clinical presence both within and out of hours.
They will work as part of a clinical leadership team consisting of clinical directors, patient service managers and matrons. The post holder is responsible for the delivery of evidence-based clinical standards, ensuring high quality care, and providing effective leadership and management of all midwifery staff in their area.
The post holder will promote a culture of openness and transparency through regular and effective two way communications and by role modelling the Trust's Right Care Behaviours.
