Environmental Consultancy are actively looking for an Air Hygiene Technician / Duct Work Engineer to join the team working in a pair covering commercial sites in the Essex area.
This Air Hygiene Technician / Duct Work Engineer role is seen as an entry position in the sector and therefore comes with a full training package including the opportunity to gain additional qualifications to take forward in your career.
To apply for the Air Hygiene Technician / Duct Work Engineer the following backgrounds are being considered:
1. A minimum of 2 years' experience working in a building services role including plumbing, cleaning, electrical or building maintenance.
2. Excellent communication skills and be confident speaking to client points of contact when required.
3. Driving license would be beneficial but not essential.
4. Be happy to work in confined spaces and carry out physically demanding tasks.
Key duties for the Air Hygiene Technician / Duct Work Engineer will include the following:
1. Inspection of the Kitchen Extraction Systems.
2. Take photos for pre-clean documentation.
3. Remove and clean canopy filters using hot water and degreasing chemicals.
4. Physically remove grease and contaminants from internal duct surfaces using scrapers, brushes, or mechanical cleaning tools.
5. Clean extractor fan blades and housings to maintain airflow and efficiency.
6. Fit new access panels ensuring compliance with TR19 guidelines.
7. Documentation & Compliance Reporting.
