We have a great opportunity for a Safety, Health & Environment Manager to join our team within Coveris, travelling is required for across the UK to cover all our Paper sites and our S&K facility in Czech Republic. As our Safety, Health & Environment Manager you will be responsible for supporting The Coveris Group in the safe planning, delivery and review of a variety complex projects across all areas of the business whilst ensuring compliance with The Coveris Group Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Policies, Standards and legislation.

Principal Accountabilities:
* Implement the BU Paper HSE strategy across all sites, making sure that the strategy is communicated within the business and is known and understood
* Develop existing and new policies and procedures for the management of SHE within the Paper business, using the UK SHE Regional Director for support and guidance
* To work with all internal departments to define, measure, improve and control all current and applicable technical procedures
* Implement and deliver a robust internal auditing / housekeeping process
* Develop an incident reduction process to identify and eliminate repeat accidents
* Involvement in customer visits where needed to support audit’s / customer knowledge requirement
* Preparation of SOP’s, Risk Assessments and SSOW for all activities on site
* Devise and implement an audit process to establish site wide compliance with corporate procedures and HSE Law
* Ensure that all policies and procedures are consistent with corporate standards and policies and UK legislative requirements, aligning to Group polices where relevant working in collaboration with UK SHE Regional Director
* Maintain awareness of current and potential requirements and develop appropriate policies in a timely manner
* To facilitate the arrangement of training for all staff in all relevant areas of HSE, Fire Control & associated / other procedures, along with any new training designed by Group if BU Paper deem it necessary to roll out
* Compliance to all manufacturing policies, procedures and systems
* Conduct ASI’s frequently
* Implement Key Performance Indicators to demonstrate improvement across all manufacturing and office-based departments
* To support the technical and manufacturing team’s, ensuring compliance and to act as the key point of contact
* Build a robust culture of compliance to all procedures and processes across the Paper Division
* Audit existing procedures and assess implement corrective actions and risk assessments
* To provide support in investigations of incidents/accidents and other breaches compliance. Along with rolling out the necessary training and monitoring near hits
Candidate Specification
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in relevant role, manufacturing environment preferable packaging - NEBOSH Certification / Diploma Level 6 in Occupational Health and Safety - Track record of improvement for SHE policies - Excellent project management skills - Familiar with Process Improvement knowledge including ISO 14001 & (phone number removed) - Excellent communicator (written and verbal) at all times. - Strategic and innovative thinker - Organised and calm under pressure - Friendly, approachable and flexible – a team player - Professional in all activities with high influencing skills - Proactive, positive, enthusiastic - demonstrates “can do” attitude - Strong Commercial awareness - Leads by example, but effective delegator - Travel may be required therefore current, clean driving licence an advantage - NEBOSH Certification / Diploma Level 6 in Occupational Health and Safety - Computer literate with Microsoft packages
