Key Responsibilities: • Preparation of Monthly Management Accounts: Prepare accurate and timely management accounts, providing detailed variance analysis and commentary to explain performance.• Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Take full responsibility for ensuring all balance sheet accounts are reconciled to a high standard, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.• Subject Matter Expertise: Become a subject matter expert on the financial results of your respective Business Unit (BU), ensuring a thorough understanding of financial performance.• Budgeting, Forecasting, and Business Planning: Lead the preparation, review, and challenge of budgets, business plans, and forecasts, providing insights into potential risks and opportunities.• Maintain Financial Control Processes: Ensure robust financial control processes are maintained, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.• Process Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and drive their implementation to enhance efficiency and accuracy.• Stakeholder Engagement: Regularly liaise with BU stakeholders to help them understand financial results, providing clarity on performance and any areas of concern.• Audit Liaison: Act as a key point of contact for both internal and external auditors, ensuring audit processes run smoothly and efficiently.• Financial Analysis: Provide detailed balance sheet and P&L analysis, offering insights and recommendations to support business decision-making.• Ad Hoc Finance Tasks: Support with other finance-related tasks and projects as required, contributing to the wider finance team's objectives.• Project Involvement: Be involved in various finance-related projects, providing expertise and support to ensure successful outcomes. Candidate Requirements: At least 3 years of experience in a Management Accounts role, with a proven track record of preparing management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and involvement in audit processes. A fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent), or currently in the final stages of your qualification (with a maximum of 4 exams left). Experience in managing relationships with challenging stakeholders, particularly non-finance professionals, with the ability to communicate financial information clearly and effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage with people at all levels of the organisation. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide meaningful insights and recommendations based on financial data.
