Role Responsibilities
Principal accountabilities and responsibilities will include:
Working closely with the Finance Director & other senior stakeholders
Timely and accurate delivery of the month-end close process and providing required information to support monthly management pack
Managing the half-year and year-end annual accounts process including the completion of any audit requirements
Manage the day-to-day relationship with the group's auditors including fees and minimise overruns
Own the group's IFRS accounting policies and ensure timely adoption of changes to accounting standards, also ensuring compliance with standards and upfront identification of management estimates and interpretation, with accounting papers approved by the Finance Director as necessary
Providing commentary and reports on the month-end/half-year/annual accounts for both internal and external stakeholders
Production of quarterly, half-year and year-end reports if required when/if the company is listed, or to third parties such as banks
Developing, documenting & improving business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Processing and managing monthly payroll, including pension payments
Processing and managing quarterly VAT returns, and co-ordinate overseas
specialist advisors to ensure compliance with applicable equivalent sales tax reporting
Preparation of annual budgets for departments
Liaising with external firms such as auditors, HRMC, tax partners and banks
Provide support to the Accounts Assistant in issuing invoices and processing bills as well as making payments
Contributing to business plans and forecasting the future performance of the business
Ad-hoc projects within the finance department as required
Supporting in preparing the finance team and wider business for further PE Investment
Support for acquisitions, including financial due diligence, post-acquisition integration and acquisition accounting
Own the group's treasury processes to ensure liquidity and management of FX risks
Review and monitoring of the Groups tax position, calculations, and filings
Oversight of the group's CRM system (HubSpot) to ensure it provides accurate, complete, and timely reporting and forecasting
Line management of the Accounts Assistant, ensuring development plans are in place and assisting the FD in the recruitment and development of future hires into the finance team
Role Requirements
Fully qualified in a recognised accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and
Word). Ideally also Sage
Experience in audit and/or working within an internal finance department in a
similar role is highly desirable
Experience in Practice/Corporate Finance is an advantage
Experience working in a SME with exponential planned growth
Experience in producing basic models
Experience of working in a PE backed business
Experience of one or more of the following is not a prerequisite but would be
highly desirable:
Working with the technology sector/SaaS
Financial due diligence and post-acquisition integration, particularly in
the US
Working in a small, growing listed company
