Astroscale UK is seeking a proactive and detail focussed individual to join our friendly and welcoming team at our new state of the art office facility in Harwell.
Working on site, you will be the main contact for deliveries and collections, ensuring deliveries are checked, discrepancies raised, accurate records are kept, and an accurate inventory is maintained.
In addition to goods in responsibilities you will take an active role in indirect procurement by sourcing goods and services, negotiating contracts and maintaining good working relationships with our suppliers.
Responsibilities
* Be the responsible person for our Goods-In i.e. taking full ownership ensuring the area is fully Health & Safety compliant, as well as ensuring compliance to other internal or external standards.
* Take receipt of all incoming goods through our Goods-In’s, ensuring items are received in a professional and timely manner.
* Using SAP and Sortly our inventory management packages to receipt items, verify quantities and documentation against purchase orders, correctly identifying items and storing in the correct stock locations within the business.
* Working closely with our Inspection Dept ensuring deliveries are handed over to them in a timely manner with all the correct identification, to include goods receipting, re-packaging, labelling and serialisation.
* Conduct monthly cycle counts on all high value items ensuring stock accuracy is maintained investigating all stock discrepancies. Reporting on corrective actions / Improvements to processes. Updating processes and procedures to ensure they reflect day to day activities for ISO9001 compliance.
* Work closely with other departments to resolve any issues that may arise with incoming goods.
* Kitting to agreed Works Orders in a timely manner, reporting on stock shortages and expediting these through our supply chain.
* Managing all COSHH items within the Goods-In area including documentation.
* Taking ownership of all domestic logistic requirements and supporting in organising international shipping.
* Managing our Off-Site storage as required.
Essential Skills
* Experience in running a Goods-In function for a fast paced manufacturing or engineering environment.
* Evidence of negotiation skills within previous roles.
* Experience in Purchasing.
* Experience in a manufacturing or warehousing environment.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Familiarity with inventory management software/manual systems.
* Safe Manual Handling experience with especially high value items.
Desirable skills
* Scissor Lift / Pallet Truck licence.
* Knowledge in the rules and regulations of shipping goods internationally.
* SAP Business byDesign or Equivalent ERP System.
