We are looking for a Head of Quality (LaboratoryServices) to join our Quality and Regulation team.
Title: Head of Quality Laboratory Services
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience and Head Office location)
Contract: Permanent, full time
Hours: 35 per week (standard Anthony Nolan working hours)
Location: London or Nottingham, hybrid working (2 days on-site per week)
Job Summary
The Head of Quality (Laboratory Services) is a new role for the organisation and will oversee the integration and maintenance of the Quality and Regulation (QR) function within Anthony Nolan’s laboratory services. This includes ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards across divisions like the H&I Laboratory, Cell Therapy Centre and Cell Collection Centre, whilst embedding a quality mindset culture. The role requires providing expert advice on regulatory and quality standards, leadership in quality management support and launch QR education resources for example on QMS tools.
In this role, you will manage a small team of 3 Quality Managers, together as a team you will ensure Anthony Nolan’s Human Tissue Authority (HTA) licenses and accreditations are maintained (ISO 15189, FACT NetCord, and JACIE). Working closely with your team you will ensure full compliance with accreditation standards, and drive quality improvements across the organisation and effectively manage internal audits. As a person designated under the HTA you will oversee regulatory matters such as data and report submissions. Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders will be key to ensuring Anthony Nolan plans effectively for changes to the regulatory environment.
This role is ideal for a motivated and enthusiastic professional, with experience of working in a highly regulated healthcare laboratory environment, knowledgeable in the HTA regulatory environment. An individual who is excellent at building and maintaining relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including the external regulatory and accreditation bodies. They will be a confident leader and communicator who can influence and negotiate with people to comply with the requirements of the quality management system. An experienced line manager who can keep abreast of the work of the team and allocate and prioritize resource to meet the demands of the services areas. Educating their team and others on quality principles will also be a key part of the role.
