Job overview
We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Radiology Nurse to work within a dedicated team at Worthing & Southlands Hospitals which is part of the University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust.
Worthing & Southlands Radiology Nurses take responsibility for the clinical nursing care of patients attending the radiology department. We provide a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic image guided services that require hands-on nursing care from our team. Radiology Nurses also play a pivotal part in Interventional Radiology or IR, which is a form of image guided surgery that uses imaging techniques to guide equipment to parts of the body that surgeons couldn’t normally reach without an open operation.
Main duties of the job
The Radiology Nurse's key role is to act as a role model and ensure effective staff supervision with clinical practice, working with staff and patients in an advisory, teaching and support capacity and maintaining professional competence, authority and credibility.
They also must be able to work collaboratively with clinical experts including Radiology Consultants, Nursing staff and Clinical Teams in the development of expert, person-centred practice.
To ensure we continue to remain effective and efficient, the Radiology Nurse will help to develop protocols and guidelines and work closely with our appointment teams to ensure the smooth operational running of the interventional radiology (IR) department.

Registration and Training
* NMC Registered Nurse educated to degree level
* Evidence of professional development since qualification
* Substantial Post Registration Experience
* NVQ Assessor
* ILS/ALS Trained
* Venepuncture Cannulation
* IV Drug Administrator
People Management & Skills
* Ability to participate and implement the development of nursing practice
* Substantial experience in the speciality of Radiology, Endoscopy, Critical Care or other complimentary nursing profession.
* Mental Health First Aider
* Previous experience working in Radiology Department/Interventional
Specific Requirements for the role
* Knowledge of NatSSIPs and LocSSIPs
