Our client has a RCVS Tier 3 hospital based in Newbury, which is a thriving town in West Berkshire. They are now looking for a flexible and motivated Small Animal Vet to join the team.
The town has many restaurants and is only a 45-minute train journey to London Paddington. Situated on the edge of the North Wessex Downs Area Of Natural Beauty, it also provides beautiful local countryside for long walks with our canine friends.
You will have a flexible working approach and will be working in the hospital and over two of the branches nearby. The equipment includes digital radiography, digital dental radiography, ultrasound with colour doppler, endoscopy, arthroscopy, operating microscope, microsurgical equipment, slit lamp, and tonovet. There is an existing friendly and supportive team made up of 17 vets and 30 nurses (including nursing assistants). Amongst the team, there are certificate holders in medicine, ophthalmology, imaging, and surgery. They encourage the team with further education and support any special interests they have.
You will be working within a large team across three branches (no sole charge) carrying out consultations (at least 15 minutes), surgery, work-ups, and time to carry out day-to-day phone calls and other ancillary veterinary tasks. You will be required to work 4 days a week plus take part in their Out of Hours Rota, which is shared evenly across a large team of vets with full back-up when on call at night. The current rota pattern is 1 in 15 nights and 1 in 7 weekends. Salary up to £750,000 depending on experience and a relocation allowance of up to £2k if required.
You must be RCVS registered with experience of working within a busy practice.
