This job role is hard work, enormous fun, hugely satisfying and very fascinating. The Retail Sales Assistant supports the Retail Manager and team with all aspects of running the Ashgate Hospice shop situated in Alfreton. The role will involve managing staff, stock control, preparing products as well as the training of volunteers.
Key responsibilities:
* Maintain the high standards of customer service expected in Ashgate Hospice shops at all times.
* Actively support fundraising promotions as directed by Ashgate Hospice or your Manager.
* Implement in-store promotions as instructed.
* Assist in the training, development, and motivation of staff and volunteers.
What you’ll bring:
We’re looking for someone to join our Retail Team at Alfreton who will play a key role in ensuring the shop is safe, clean, and well-presented, creating a welcoming experience for our customers.
You’ll need:
* Excellent customer service skills, with the confidence to handle various customer interactions.
* The ability to multitask, manage priorities, and meet targets in a dynamic environment.
* Experience with cash handling and banking procedures.

Ashgate Hospice, based in North Derbyshire, offers free palliative and end of life care for adults with life-limiting or incurable illnesses, including cancer, neurological diseases, and advanced heart, kidney, and lung conditions. Last year, we cared for over 2,400 people.
