Job summary Wickhambrook Surgery is looking to welcome into our busy practice a qualified dispenser, who will play a full and active role as part of the practice multi-disciplinary team. Due to the forthcoming retirement of one of our friendly team, who has been with us for 32 years the position is now available. The role is offered on a part time basis, for 25 hours or more, this can be discussed further at interview. Main duties of the job Process all relevant prescriptions and repeat prescriptions as authorised by GPs and prescribing nurses where appropriate, in accordance with the good practice principles of the Dispensing Services Quality Scheme. Ensure that all medicines and appliances dispensed are checked against the prescription and whenever there is doubt about the appropriateness of the item, or about the dose or labelling instructions, to check with the authorising doctor or duty doctor. Collect all due prescription charges and ensure that the patient declaration on the reverse of the FP10 is duly filled in and signed by the patient. Process dosset boxes. Manage ordering stock and stock control. Answer and deal withdispensary phone enquiries. Monitor patients exemption status. Sort and dispose of unwanted/returned medication. Any other duties to assist in the smooth day to day running of the dispensary and surgery as directed by the either the dispensary manager or practice manager. About us Our practice is located in the beautiful Suffolk village of Wickhambrook between Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket and Haverhill, serving a patient population of approximately 5,200 patients, dispensing to nearly 100% of the practice population.
