Motor Vehicle Apprenticeship Coach
A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced HGV/Heavy Vehicle professional to step into a dynamic role as an Apprenticeship Coach, supporting and mentoring Motor Vehicle apprentices across multiple MOD bases. This role is ideal for individuals with extensive industry experience who are looking to transition into training and development, shaping the next generation of skilled vehicle technicians.
Location - To cover parts of Wiltshire and surrounding areas.
About the Role
This position involves travelling to MOD sites to assess and support apprentices working within Heavy Vehicle maintenance and repair. The role combines coaching, workplace assessment, and skills development, ensuring apprentices gain the technical expertise and knowledge required to succeed in the industry.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct on-site visits to apprentices across MOD bases, assessing their practical skills and workplace progress.
* Deliver tailored coaching and technical training in Motor Vehicle and Heavy Vehicle maintenance.
* Guide apprentices through their qualifications, ensuring they meet industry and regulatory standards.
* Provide constructive feedback and skills development support, helping learners achieve their potential.
* Maintain compliance with awarding bodies, Ofsted, and ESFA requirements.
* Work closely with military personnel and training teams to align apprenticeship delivery with MOD expectations.
* Support apprentices in preparing for their End Point Assessments, ensuring they aim for high standards.
* Maintain detailed records of learner progress and assessment outcomes.
* Engage in ongoing professional development to keep up with industry advancements.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Extensive experience in HGV, Heavy Vehicle, or Motor Vehicle maintenance and repair.
* Minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant Motor Vehicle or Heavy Vehicle subject.
* Strong practical skills with the ability to coach and assess apprentices in a real-world environment.
* Ability to travel between MOD bases, occasionally staying overnight (fully funded).
* Strong communication and mentoring skills, with a passion for developing future talent.
Desirable
* Experience in the defence sector, particularly within an army or MOD environment.
* Recognised assessor qualification (e.g., Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement or equivalent).
* Teaching or training qualification (e.g., Award in Education & Training or equivalent).
* Knowledge of apprenticeship standards and work-based learning programs.
* Any previous Tutor / Trainer / Lecturer / Instructor / Assessor / Teacher experience
