An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Ocean Housing Group for a permanent, full time,People Advisor within our current People Services team.Working within the current PeopleTeam you will support the business by providingprofessional, customer focused and pragmatic generalist people advice and guidance and recruitment support to Managers, Supervisors and staff.In addition you will work alongside the PeopleCoordinator as the second tier point of contact for enquiries coming into the PeopleTeamescalating as required. Your role is to advise and promote best practice service at all times.Your main responsibility as the People Advisor will be to pro-actively and reactively advise and coach managers/supervisors in the operation of the consistent application of the policies and procedures eg people management, performance management, health & welfare and appraisal issues. You will support managers in the pro-active and long term management of absence and capability ensuring return to work interviews are effective and using the support of occupational health when required.You will be integral todelivering a professional end to end recruitment process by providing advice and support to managers on all aspects of Ocean's recruitment and selection policies which includes reviewing job descriptions, person specifications, selection, shortlisting and interview. You will work with the People Coordinator to ensure paperwork is correct and all pre-employment and onboarding procedures are completed.You will have experience of independently delivering a full generalist peopleadvice service to customers, including senior management and have a good understanding of current Employment Law.Experience of using computerised People/Payroll management databases along with experience of identifying, planning and administering training provision is essential. Previous experience of working in a people department with exposure in the social housing environment is desirable and not essential.You will have the ability to create an immediate, polite, positive and credible impression on others, whilst maintaining calm and confident and are able to inspire others by treating all individuals in a fair and consistent manner. You are able to take the initiative and act with confidence andhave the ability to prioritise and manage time and tasks effectively to achieve your objectives.You will be educated to A Level or equivalent Level 3 qualification and be part qualified and/or studying towards full Chartered CIPD Membership.
