We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant in Public Health to join us!
This is a fixed term (12 month) 0.7 FTE role with hybrid working, and a salary of £82,000 to £84,935 (£57,400 to £59,454 per annum pro rata). This is an attractive opportunity for those seeking experience in a local authority. This role can be offered as a secondment.

The Role:
The RBWM is looking for a Consultant in Public Health to work within our multidisciplinary team for a 12-month fixed term period. During this time, the post holder will lead the strategic prevention planning for children and young people, the commissioning of 0-19 Public Health Nursing Services, the Borough’s Whole System Approach to Healthy Weight, the implementation of the RBWM Suicide Prevention Action Plan and lead the development of our approach to public mental health.
Your Role Will Involve:
* Working with the DPH to implement the strategic prevention planning approach with senior partners in RBWM Children’s Services and the provider Achieving for Children.
* Work with the provider Achieving for Children to ensure the commissioned 0-19 Public Health Nursing Service and Family Hubs are efficiently working to improve outcomes for children and young people in RBWM.
* Lead the implementation of the RBWM Whole System Approach to Healthy Weight.
* Lead the development of our approach to public mental health, including the implementation of the RBWM Suicide Prevention Action Plan.
* Work with colleagues in the Frimley Integrated Care System to implement their Early Years business case requirements.
* As a member of the Public Health Senior Management Team, provide strategic leadership and advice across work programmes.
* Support direct reports to deliver against the Council Plan and their work programmes.

* You will demonstrate previous experience as a Consultant in Public Health.
* You will have a strong understanding of and experience in application of public health science.
* You will have strong communication and collaboration skills.
* You will inspire and motivate others to take a “health in all policies” approach.
* You will work across organisations as an advocate for change.
* Your experience of commissioning public health services will support effective planning.
