Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Tamworth
Type: They predominantly care for cats and dogs across the Staffordshire area, but they occasionally see small furries and even the odd chicken! (No two days are the same here)

Practice Type: Part of a group - they have been established over 100 years ago and is a small animal, primary care practice in Staffordshire & Warwickshire
Team: As a practice, they are proud of their closely-knit, supportive team. The majority of whom have 20 years of service! They are all motivated individuals who are passionate about high standards and the pets in their care. They are a 9 Veterinary Surgeon team with a certificate holder in Ophthalmology with three further Vets also working towards certificates including surgery and emergency and critical care (ECC). Investing in their associates and professional development is important to them and actively encourage.
Services: They see a varied caseload of routine and more advanced primary care services including orthopedic surgery, laparoscopic spay and laparoscopic biopsy, soft tissue surgery, eye, heart, and skin treatments, arthritis management, and cancer treatment. They also offer referral services in ophthalmology.
Facilities: Their two practices are light and spacious and have a great range of equipment available including; Digital x-ray, ultrasound at both sites, large and small endoscope, electrocautery, cryotherapy, ophthalmic loops, dental equipment, orthopaedic air-powered tools, slit lamp, tono pens & more.
Role:
* Are you an experienced Veterinary Surgeon ready to take that next step in your career? Or are you a Clinical Director who is passionate about leading a highly respected and long-established practice?
* Our client’s current Clinical Director is stepping down to a part-time role to focus on his ophthalmology work within the practice and they are thrilled to welcome a friendly and enthusiastic leader to take charge and guide their amazing team.
Hours: 40 hours per week, over 4 days, with 1:6 Saturdays 8:30 am-1 pm, and 1:6 Saturdays 8:30 am-5 pm. No OOH.
Your role and responsibilities:
* As Clinical Director, you will be responsible for the overall leadership of the practices and will work to drive forward clinical services, commercial performance, and team development. You will have a passion for delivering the best possible service and outcomes for patients, clients, and associates.
* Your role will be an exciting and varied one. You will be responsible for line managing the lead vets and senior leadership team at the practices. Your clinical work will have a mixture of in-patient care time, surgery, and consultations, and you will have the opportunity for case continuity and to build great rapport with the lovely clients.
* They are keen to support specific interests, especially if you are working towards or currently hold a certificate relevant to small animal primary care practice.
Salary: Competitive salary of up to £85,000 p/a dependent on experience
