Senior Legal Counsel (M&A and Corporate/Commercial) Are you an experienced legal professional with a strong background in M&A and corporate/commercial law? We are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation. This role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality legal advice and support to the M&A and corporate teams, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Key Responsibilities: Provide timely and commercially aware legal advice to the M&A and corporate teams on high-value, complex transactions. Lead the negotiation, drafting, and execution of a wide range of legal documents associated with the sale or acquisition of businesses and companies. Manage legal and contractual risks, offering innovative solutions to legal challenges. Work closely with senior members of the M&A and corporate teams, other legal department members, contract counterparties, regulators, and external legal advisers. Supervise and develop junior legal staff, sharing knowledge and expertise. Ensure compliance with laws and regulations, keeping legal precedents and know-how up to date with changes in legislation and case law. Attend key business meetings and contribute to the development of the organisation's strategy and objectives. Requirements: Qualified solicitor/barrister in a UK jurisdiction or alternative jurisdiction with UK advisory experience (PQE advisory - 6). Demonstrable experience in providing high-quality legal advice in M&A and corporate/commercial law. Excellent technical, analytical, drafting, and negotiating skills. Ability to assess and quantify commercial risk while offering innovative solutions. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to work under pressure with limited supervision in a multi-disciplinary and multi-jurisdictional environment. Collegiate, collaborative, and culturally aware approach; ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues across diverse areas and jurisdictions.
