Job Summary
We are looking for a Clerical Officer to join the Ocular Oncology Team within the Ophthalmology Department at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.
You will support the administration team to manage the end-to-end clinical administrative processes associated with patient referrals and surgical bookings, in order to deliver a high-quality administration service for our patients and customers.
The work is varied and demanding, with an emphasis on accuracy, adaptability, and the ability to prioritize competing workloads. You will be providing administrative support to your line manager within Ophthalmology and the wider organization.
Main Duties of the Job
This is a vital role in the delivery of patient care via the management of the patients' end-to-end pathway and supporting the wider team. Your day-to-day duties will include:
1. Management of referrals
2. Liaising with referring trusts to collate all relevant clinical information required by the Consultant team
3. Ensuring patients' referrals are registered and appropriately graded to follow the correct pathway through the service to ensure a great and seamless patient experience
4. Supporting the MDT coordinator with surgical booking administration
5. Supporting the wider admin team as required

Qualifications
Essential
1. GCSE at Grade C in English and Maths (or equivalent qualifications) or equivalent experience

1. NVQ Level II in Business Administration / Customer Service / IT
