Sitting at the intersection of business and technology, Product Managers within Aladdin Product Management (APM) work closely with Aladdin developers, business stakeholders and clients to innovate, conceptualize, design and pilot new capabilities to simplify our clients’ business problems.
Job Purpose/Background:
As a Product Manager within the Regulatory Technology & Reporting group, you will be focused on aligning product strategy and delivery for Aladdin’s regulatory product offering, working directly with Reporting teams, Global Financial Reporting teams, Legal and Compliance, Aladdin Development teams, Product Marketing and Relationship Managers to define and shape requirements as we continue our multi-year journey to build a “best in class” Regulatory Reporting platform.
In this role you will be a key player in driving the product lifecycle from discovery to delivery, iterating at speed with ownership over significant portions of the product roadmap. You will be responsible for working closely with the wider Product Management team and Engineering leads to define, manage, and execute on our product vision to create a best-in-class regulatory reporting platform.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Define and own the product story and roadmap
2. Data analysis across Aladdin to inform decision making and troubleshooting
3. Business analysis into market regulations, product development and client issues
4. Become a regulatory data platform and reporting ecosystem expert
5. Stay attuned to regulation, industry, market, and technology trends to create opportunities for BlackRock and better serve our clients
6. Serve as a resource to internal and external clients regarding our capabilities in the context of their business
7. Be metrics driven. Track and measure usage and feedback to inform product strategy
8. Keep abreast of the competition in the regulatory technology space, with an eye to the commercialization of the product.
9. Partner with project managers, product managers, technical leads, business owners and developers to ensure continual feedback loops throughout the entire software development lifecycle
10. Evaluate business processes to anticipate requirements, uncover areas for improvement, and develop mitigating enhancements required for both near and longer-term solutions
11. Produce key artifacts including business and functional requirement documents, user stories, test cases, user acceptance test plans and release notes
12. Develop a deep understanding of the market, users, business problems, and opportunities
Experience / Qualifications:
* Experience of 4+ years working in the financial industry
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification – Finance and Technology subjects advantageous
* Understanding of the regulatory landscape including impact to clients and the financial industry
* Understanding of risk management, financial services, and relevant technologies
* Strong engagement in the post-trade and regulatory industry landscape, market, and technology trends
* Knowledge of the trade lifecycle, with a focus on derivatives, is highly desirable
* Broad understanding of all aspects of a data warehouse ecosystem, including pipelines, transformation/processing, storage, access, reporting toolsets and governance
* Experience in client demonstrations, presentations, and user training
* Experience in using Investment Management Tools (Aladdin preferred)
* Python, SQL, Unix, and VBA/Macro experience is a plus
* Understanding of product and software development lifecycles
* Experience with agile development practices and working with Agile engineering teams to deliver long term and incremental technical improvements
* Experience creating a product roadmap, writing business and technical specifications, executing on product deliverables
* Experience interacting with product stakeholders, including end users and software developers
