1. Accounts Officer
Morgan Hunt is working with a Charity in Aylesbury who are looking at recruiting an Accounts Officer. This is a part time contract role paying up to £20 p/hour.
12 hours p/week, 4 hours p/day split over Tues, Wed, & Thursday - timings can be flexible but the days confirmed
Key Responsibilities:
Post all accounting transactions and journals up to Trial Balance, administer payroll, and ensure timely payments and returns while maintaining accuracy and speed in a busy role with minimal supervision.Effectively manage Purchase and Sales Ledgers, credit control, and perform recurring monthly journals, including payroll, accruals, prepayments, and deferred income.Liaise with customers, suppliers, and Budget Holders for accurate invoice approval and coding, and perform bank and control account reconciliations, making payments using online banking.Process creditor transactions, raise customer invoices and credit notes, and reconcile customer payments received via bank or cheque.Administer monthly payroll and enrolments to Defined Benefit pension scheme, post and reconcile Petty Cash and Gift Card transactions weekly, and maintain strong Credit Control practices.Utilise cloud-based Xero accounts system and various online portals for supplier invoices, perform daily and monthly reconciliations of bank and control accounts, and uphold internal financial controls.
Previous Skills and Experience:
Previously used Xero.Strong attention to detail, ability to work accurately and quickly, and knowledge of organisational systems and processes including finance and databases.Enhanced DBS is a must.
