The role of Facilities Lead is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience coordinating/managing a small team, with exceptional communication skills and a passion for customer service, who is looking to develop within their career in building management.
The role will support to progress the Soft Facilities Management Team within the Corporate Assets Team here at Cumberland Council. This is a service that supports a diverse range of property requirements to ensure statutory compliance and management of the Council’s Corporate Portfolio Cumberland wide.
As Facilities Lead you will be responsible for a team of building assistants, overseeing and coordinating their workloads, while supporting the Facilities Manager to enable Council functions to be delivered efficiently and effectively.
You will coordinate bookings, manage access to all Council properties, liaise confidently with key stakeholders, and assist with any front of house enquiries and resolve challenges effectively and professionally.
Working closely with the Building Maintenance and Corporate Health & Safety Teams you will provide overall support to the team on any facilities management concerns, ensuring building maintenance takes place for all required buildings and equipment and all Health & Safety information is displayed in line with appropriate guidelines, creating a safe working environment for all.
Key responsibilities
* Line Management of up to 10 Building Assistants.
* Management of Shared Mailboxes, using Room Booking and Door Access solution software programmes, as well as using a CAFM system.
* Supporting a diverse range of building management requirements in order to ensure statutory compliance and management of the Council’s Corporate Portfolio countywide.
* Collaborating effectively with colleagues as part of a remote team.
Who we’re looking for
The successful candidate will understand the requirements to deliver the highest level of customer service and have experience in dealing with a wide range of stakeholders.
Strong communication and people management skills are required with the ability to engage with customers/building users on often challenging issues.
You must be able to effectively collaborate as part of a remote team based within various locations around Cumberland and be able to effectively delegate roles as required and lead staff in a supporting and motivating way.
