About the Role:
As Principal Social Worker, you’ll be a a key member of our Service manager leadership team, working across the district and reporting to the Head of Social Care Operations. This is more than just a leadership role; it’s an opportunity to shape the future of social work in Kirklees. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring that our social work teams deliver the highest quality services to adults across the community. Leading from the front, you’ll champion innovation, inspire professional growth, and ensure that our practice is rooted in compassion, safeguarding, and person-centred care.
What You’ll Do:
• Provide expert leadership and professional oversight for adult social work services.
• Drive forward practice improvement and quality assurance, ensuring the best outcomes for adults in need.
• Lead on workforce development and nurturing a learning culture.
• Be a key advisor on complex safeguarding cases, ensuring the highest standards of risk management and decision-making.
• Work collaboratively with senior management and multi-agency partners to create integrated, person-centred services.
• Lead initiatives that focus on innovation, policy implementation, and service transformation in line with national and local priorities.
