Job summary Role Purpose This role is accountable for performing imaging procedures which may include MRI, CT, Xray, Dexa or Ultrasound, deferring to Senior or Lead radiologists when required. Preparing patients for imaging procedures, explains the procedure and ensures that the patient is comfortable and properly positioned. Ensuring all referrals are justified and provide advise on protocols, if required Ensuring consistently high-quality images are produced. Assessing images for quality and clinical significant and escalate urgent findings as necessary. Administering contrast media in line with PGD guidance, SOPs & protocols. Responsible for own clinical areas with regards to linen change and cleanliness. Further Responsibilities Maintains the highest standards of both practical work and patient care at all times, including patient privacy and dignity. Provide support and reassurance to patients and families. Maintains own personal continual professional development and a professional portfolio in line with HCPC & CoR recommendations and requirements. Carry out responsibilities in relation to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, to have knowledge of supporting policies and safety and to undertake the appropriate level of training for your role.
