Job summary The Children's Packages of Care team (CPOC) care for children with very complex needs in the community, this could be at home, in school or out in the community. This position is term time only working in schools caring for children with health needs such as tracheostomy care, gastrostomy feeding or medication administration. You will be working for LSCFT's Clinical Team of the Year, 2023. You will receive high quality training and regular team wellbeing sessions. The ideal candidates will have experience in a health care, social care or education setting working with children. An NVQ3 in care or equivalent care experience is desired, however full training will be given. Career pathway from HCSW to nursing associate is available to members of CPOC. Main duties of the job This can be a very rewarding role as you will be caring for children in their homes/school providing support ensuring that their needs are met. You will be attending to personal cares, moving and handling needs and engaging through play. Some of our children have additional needs such as gastrostomies and tracheostomies in which full training will be provided.You would need to be organised, able to work alone and part of a team, adaptable, calm in pressured situations and flexible to meet the needs of the service. The team care for children across Lancashire, therefore only car drivers with access to a vehicle for work purposes will be considered due to shift working and the large geographical area. Your base would be Ashton Health Centre, Preston however there would be the need to travel to Burnley at least once a month for training days, mileage will be reimbursed if distance travelled is further than home to work base.
