Your responsibilities
The UK Trading IT Solutions team is looking for an undergraduate to join us this Summer (2025) for a 48-52 week placement. We are an Agile Team practicing continuous development to support the Trading Business. We seek an IT Undergraduate with interpersonal and technical skills to support the Digitalisation journey of Uniper in the UK.
Our UK Trading IT team delivers continuous change within a fast-paced business environment, identifying issues and opportunities to proactively deliver solutions. The undergraduate will work alongside industry experts in the full trade lifecycle within short-term trading and optimisation.
The candidate will be required to:
1. Identify, shape, catalogue and implement business and functional requirements that align with Uniper goals, utilizing data, technology, and AI to improve performance.
2. Document business requirements and current solutions to implement improvements in line with our IT strategy.
3. Prepare cost estimates and project timelines for completing recommended solutions.
4. Provide input into user education and implementation plans.
5. Identify process improvements related to specific projects/tasks.
6. Participate in architecture, data design, and review of the applications landscape, actively identifying and reporting project and system improvement ideas.
7. Engage in the incident management process, proactively improving quality.
You will be closely aligned with our core IT strategy, adopting a combination of digital learning and on-the-job training to build new skills with the help of industry experts.

Essential:
1. Logical and structured thinking, with high organizational skills to present complex topics to the audience.
2. Ability to build partnerships with the business.
3. Manage individual project scope on time and within budget.
4. Passionate about continuous improvement to transition manual processes to digital and automated setups.
5. Problem-solving, creativity, positivity, leadership, and teamwork.
Desirable:
1. Understanding or experience of cloud computing.
2. Understanding of the application development lifecycle.
3. Effective communication skills and genuine passion for IT.
4. Interest in the Energy Industry.
